The rich sand was still crisp, not yet warmed by the sure-to-be splendid sun that had just scarcely transcended the skyline. Modest track imprints dabbed the undulated rises, proof that some little creature had been hurrying by not very well before.
We were driving through the Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve, vigilant for Arabian oryx, glad looking, since quite a while ago horned gazelle that appeared as magnificent as they did restless. We had woken before day break and advanced out of the city, viewing the elevated structures blur away before happening upon the principal crowd of oryx, in excess of twelve of them standing together in the wake of the gradually rising sun. These oryx were just a couple of hundreds that openly wandered the save, alongside hundreds additional gazelles and scores of other littler creatures and normal growth.
